Forgotten Ground Regained
The Society for Creative Anachronism and Other Fans of the Medieval
Introduction
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a child of the 1960s, reflecting a convergence between medievalism and roleplaying in a group centered around science fiction authors Dian Paxson, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and Poul and Karen Anderson. The SCA has long played a role encouraging people to recreate medieval arts, and alliterative poetry is no exception. The links on this page demonstrate just how broadly SCA members, along with other practitioners of the Bardic arts, have participated in the creation of modern English alliterative verse.
