Forgotten Ground Regained

Sandra Ballif Straubhaar

Sandra B. Straubhaar is a retired professor of liberal arts at the University of Texas at Austin and a member of the Society For Creative Anachronism, where she is known as Brynhildr Kormáksdóttor. She edited and translated an anthology of Old Norse poetry, Old Norse Women's Poetry: The Voices of Female Skalds, and is known for her contrbutions to Tolkien scholarship and Germanic studies. Several of her alliterative poems appear in Dennis Wise's critical anthology of modern alliterative verse, incuding:
