This poem is, by design, a hypertext poem. It is written in strict Old English meter, i.e., each line consists of two-half lines whose rhythm follows one of the five Sievers types, with the first stress in the first half-line alliterating with the first stress in the second half-line. Each stanza also has, as a header, an Old English futhorc rune.
