Thaliarchus is the pen name of a British scholar of Middle English. His major poetic project is a mecha space opera/epic poem, Cosmic Warlord Kin-Bright, published on the gaming site, itch.io. It is primarily in blank verse, but characters from one of the cultures in conflict in his epic sometimes speak in alliterative verse [it forms their highest register]. He has also written another poem set in the same universe, Spearhand Faring, also published on itch.io. He also posts occasional experiments in alliterative verse to his cohost site, including Finnsburh Reimagined, Homeward runs heart-path, Daringly, daffodils, A career on the rock tips, From a bus with a bow wave, and Roof-tiles under rain-cloud, among others.
He has published the following poems in Forgotten Ground Regained: A Quarterly Journal of Alliterative Verse):
  • Christmas Walk (an experiment in alliterative metrics inspired by the rhythmic patterns of the Middle English bob-and-wheel), in Issue 1
  • Farewell, in Issue 4
He also posts occasional pieces in alliterative verse on social media, including:
  • "Billionaire baldmost ... "
  • "A wit healthy | would fly ware and cowed .."
  • "Every flower upflowing ..."
  • 'The frost-haired among that fire-trained host ...'
  • 'Then his journey, I judge ...'
  • 'Hard-seeking homes ...'
  • 'A nerve awry | knocks him earthward .. '
  • 'Now slip slice-path through slam-siege again ...'
  • “Meet a new maker …”, blank verse in Old English Sieversian rhythms.
