Nancy Campbell is a Scottish poet and author. Much of her work focuses on climate and culture, the physical environment and historic human engagement with it. She received the Ness Award from the Royal Geographic Society for her creative response to the life and landscape of the polar regions (including her debut poetry collection, Disko Bay). A pamphlet, Navigations, contains poems about the UK waterways written during a three-year tenure as poet laureate for the Canal & River Trust, and a third book of poems, Uneasy Pieces, records travels between the UK and Germany at a time of growing political division. Thunderstone, her memoir of a poet's year as a carer for a partner with aphasia, received the Ackerley Prize for autobiography.
On this site you can read her alliterative pantoum Kinguleruttui / The survivors (first published in Disko Bay) imagining the struggles of the Paleo-Inuit peoples who settled Greenland in the Holocene era.
