John C. Mannone, a physicist, lives in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and has work in Artemis, Appalachia Bare, Red Branch Review, Windward Review, Poetry South, and others. He has won numerous awards, including the Emma Bell Miles and Jesse Stewart prizes (2024), the Jean Ritchie Fellowship (2017) in Appalachian literature. He is author of five full-length collections (and six chapbooks), including Sacred Flute (Iris Press, 2024), a top eight finalist for the Tennessee Book Award (2025).
