Jacob Riyeff teaches in the English department at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a Benedictine oblate. His latest book is Contemplate: Toward an Expansive Heart (Monkfish 2025), drawing on 1,600 years of western contemplative tradition to show why contemplation is urgently important in our consumerist, digitally-saturated world. His latest poetry collection is Be Radiant (Fernwood 2024). Jacob lives with his wife and three children between the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan.
He has published On the Maker, a translation of the Old High German Wessobrunn Prayer in Forgotten Ground Regained, Issue 9, Winter, 2026.
