Tony Clarke
Anthony Clarke is a retired academic with qualifications in electrical engineering, psychology and ergonomics. Following a visit to the A-S stone carving collection at Breedon on the Hill church in Leicestershire he joined Ða Engliscan Gesiðas. In 1997 he won the Lichfield Prize with his novel Ordeal at Lichfield, set in the time of Æthelred, king of Mercia. He researches and writes items for Wiðowinde and is currently active in the Loughborough Town of Sanctuary scheme, helping asylum seekers with their English.
His alliterative verse includes the following poems:
