Thomas Sharp was conceived in Christine Keeler’s London bedroom – she was the beautiful at the centre of a scandal which almost brought down the British Government. He was born in the English West Mid Lands and grew up in a a hedged-in village comfortable with crop circles, crumbling churches and darkness behind cottage door. After he left they dug up an old field and discovered Europe’s largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon treasure. He accepts this as a metaphor.
He is in pursuit of the mysteries of language, consciousness, magick and romance. His experiments appear as objects and relics, limited edition books, films, physical installations and performance.
‘The strangely most punk poet’ says mü magazine, ‘a remarkable self-driven creator, working outside the usual-suspect groups, with an enormous investment of time and talent’ says Sphinx Review, ‘he is so obviously special’ says Sir Tim Smit, founder of Eden Project.
His alliterative poetry includes the video/poem Game Six, published by Atticus Review, which features alliterative poetry inspired by each move in Game 6 of the Fischer/Spassky world chess championship match in Rejkjavik. He is also working a new project based on Langland's Piers Plowman, called Our Longland Is Dreaming.
