M. Cynthia Cheung trained as an internist at UCLA and practices medicine at a hospital in Texas. She has published in a wide range of poetry journals, inclding The Baltimore Review, Pleiades, and the Tupelo Review. She was previously a finalist for the Michael E. DeBakey Poetry Contest, and was on the judging panel for 2021. She is also a poetry editor for Bear Review and serves as a judge for Baylor College of Medicine’s annual Michael E. DeBakey Medical Student Poetry Award.
Her work poetry includes an alliterative epic, Ælfwynn, Lady of Mercia, :published by Illuminations of the Fantastic, a literary magazine that primarily publishes speculative fiction and poetry.
