Donald Mace Williams is a retired writing coach and columnist at the Wichita Eagle. He has written several alliterative riddles in the Old English style, which are all published in Issue 2: His publications include Beowulf: For Fireside and Schoolroom, a translation of Beowulf into modern English iambic verse, two collections of poems (The Nectar Dancer and Wolfe and Other Poems, featuring a retelling of Beowulf set in 19th-Century Texas), two novels (Black Tuesday's Child and The Sparrow and the Hall: Love and Betrayal in Anglo-Saxon England), nonfiction (Italian POWs and a Texas Church: The Murals of St. Mary's) and a memoir (Being Ninety), published in Wolfe and Being Ninety: Old West Monsters and A Texas Poet's Life.
