Robert MacFarlane is a scholar, poet, and lover of nature. He is a Fellow at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and is the author of multiple books of verse, including The Lost Words and The Lost Spells. Much of his poetry features strong-stress alliteration more in the mode of Hopkins than of Beowulf.
