Jacob Polley is a British, specifically, a Cumbrian poet, author of several collections of poetry, including Jackself, Little Gods, The Brink, The Havocs, and Talk of the Town, and professor of creative writing at Newcastle University. His verse makes heavy use of alliteration and has been described as having an Anglo-Saxon feel, even when it is not in classical alliterative meter.
His alliterative verse includes:
