Forgotten Ground Regained

The Feast of Fat Things (Isaiah 25:6-9)

Kathryn Ann Hill
Isaiah 25:6-9 is read on Easter Sunrise.
The Lord of hosts on His holy mountainwill make a feast of the finest foods,an exquisite feast for all peoples,a feast of fat things full of marrowand well-aged wines for one and all.On Mount Zion the Lord will demolishthe burial shroud, the binding sheet, the shadow of doom that darkens the nations, dimming for them the light of the love of God.He will swallow up their enemy deathforever and ever; from all facesHe will wipe away the woeful tears; He will remove the reproach of all His people:for the Lord has spoken it; the Lord has promised.
On that day they will confess with heartfelt faith:“Behold, this is our God, for whom we hoped and waited.Behold, this is the Lord, who rescued us from harm.Let us rejoice and be glad in God’s salvation;let us glorify His name now and forever.”
