Forgotten Ground Regained

Silver Fir (Abies alba)

Judd Bemmels
The half-timbered town · lies behind the hills;far I have fared, deep into Fir-land,past Woodcutter’s hut · and Huntsman’s horn. Was it Wolf whose paw · left a print on the path?Fir tells tales, recalls much folklore.I clasp my hood closer · as the conifers thicken.
