Forgotten Ground Regained
Iftar
From my tendered touch you take no comfort,as if swapped fugazi you’ve sworn not to fall for. This mis’rable mood — a mourning sans rungs,a sky of scathe I scuttle under, like you yearning for its gray to yield —I call shared shambles we have shelter for an hour in. An hour is all. anyone now waits. If we can’t be kind to each other & carefor the neighbor nearest in need, who can we?
- Iftar: The evening meal that breaks the daily fast during Ramadan
- fugazi: a fake diamond.
