Autumn Feast, Beldon Falls
Shoreline cedars stretch outward,gripping grooved rocks raked by iceand flood. Feathery hemlocks’ needles feaston the light of late afternoon, while leaves of paper birch glow like burnished goldto flare a few final days before yielding,drifting downstream to some distant eddy to feed caddis nymphs and foraging crayfish.
