Alan Sullivan is a recovering New Yorker who now lives outside Fargo, North Dakota. His poetry and essays have appeared in numerous periodicals, including Poetry, Chronicles, and The Hudson Review.

He is coauthor, with Timothy Murphy, of a new translation of Beowulf, which was recently published as part of the Longmans Anthology of British literature.
